Three years have passed since Colonel Pavel Belov and reckless criminal Alexei Smolin faced off in a deadly showdown. Smolin is serving a life sentence, while Belov has changed jobs and now heads security at a major bank. He, his wife, and their daughter sleep soundly at night, no longer fearing a sudden attack. But one day, Belov spots Smolin on the street and realizes it is far from over. How did the criminal get out of prison, and will he seek revenge on his sworn enemy and his family? Yet Belov has no idea just how terrifying his new adversaries will be. Compared to them, Smolin will prove to be the lesser evil.
